CONCRETE
Following Completion of Diamond Grind Prep and Crack/Surface Repair
We start by preparing the floor by diamond grinding the concrete surface using a commercial machine with an integral dust recovery system. A process that profiles and cleans the concrete for optimal floor adhesion. It is a dust-free process, as our equipment is attached to a vacuum that suctions the dust as it’s created. Diamond grinding the floors is the best method of preparing the concrete surface as it reduces moisture, while also creating optimal adherence by allowing the epoxy to seep into the concrete slab. Next we repair holes and cracks in the concrete slab with a concrete patching compound.
MOISTURE SEALER
Optional Per Moisture Reading
Optional per moisture reading we can apply a moisture sealer to reduce elevated vapor emissions rates and relative humidity.
BASECOAT
100% Solids Epoxy
Application of Industrial Epoxy Flooring System; designed for use in industrial maintenance environments and high-performance architectural applications. Primary benefits being chemical resistant, heavy-duty, impact and abrasion resistant.
FLAKE LAYER
Many Blends to Choose From
While epoxy is still wet we add client selected full decorative vinyl flakes. Apart from being decorative, these provide the floor with more protection and durability. The flakes also make the floor less slippery by adding traction to the floor.
TOPCOAT
UV Stable Polyaspartic
For the finishing touch, we apply a high performance Polyaspartic topcoat. It cures to a high gloss, and is UV stable, chemical resistant, impact & abrasion resistant, and non-yellowing topcoat.

I contacted several different vendors to get a quote for epoxy flooring in my 3 car tandem garage. Imperial Epoxy Flooring was the only one to respond in a timely manner. Not just at the beginning, but during the process as well.
I have attached before and after pictures to this review, so you can see what they were up against. The floor wasn't TOO dirty, but did have several hair line cracks, tire marks and some recent oil spillage from an oil change gone wrong. It also had a peanut oil stain from my deep fryer.
They used a diamond grinder to pull off the top layer (makes the epoxy stick better), patched the cracks and even filled in a few chips that were there when we moved in.
They use a LOT of the 1/4 inch chips when they spread them around, so this does not look like that epoxy that has just a light scattering of chips in it. From a distance it looks almost like interior carpet. Apparently the gray and black is pretty popular, but I went for the tan to better match the brick and trim of my house.
Coverage, including even the little stub walls from the foundation pour, was outstanding. It is not an incredibly smooth floor, so I am not afraid of sliding if it gets a little wet.
Overall I am very pleased with the product, responsiveness of the vendor, and price. I did get some cheaper quotes while looking around, but I feel that I actually got good value for what I paid.
